SAW HUSBAND DROWN

WIFE OF ENGINEER VICTIM OF U-BOAT (Reed. Dec. 28, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 27. Further reports have been received concerning the sinking of the steamer Stanholme without warning by a U-boat on Christmas morning. The chief engineer’s wife, who was among the survivors, said she saw her husband drown while attempting to ensure her safety. A few minutes before the explosion, both were drinking a Christmas toast with the captain, who was saved.
