Inspections of Sheep
During the first few months of each year recently the heavy task of inspecting all sheep on the road or offered for sale in the various saleyards in the district falls upon the Gisborne stock inspectors, who arc making arrangements for the process to be repeated early in the new year. These inspections are to locate and eliminate lice infestation, and penalties are provided in the event of lice being discovered on sheep offered for sale. Of recent years the amount of lice infestation has been greatly decreased, and only comparatively small numbers last year and the previous summer warranted the attention of the inspectors. The saleyards inspections this season will commence with the first sale to be held at Matawherb this year. ni.w:
