(Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Dee. 27, 12 noon.) LONDON, Dee. 26. It is reported from Helsinki that 10 Russian planes were brought down yesterday, including three which were over Helsinki. Russian planes raided continuously for live hours. Pour Russian planes were to-day reported to have been shot, down at Imatra. Six bombers flew over Helsinki, but no bombs were dropped. , A Stockholm' message states that 13 bombs were dropped on Porvob, otherwise known as Borga, near Helsinki, killing nine persons and wounding 20. A communique issued yesterday in Moscow stated: “We seriously defeated the Finns on the Suomussalmi sector, occupying their fortified positions and routed two battalions in the lllomantai area, killing many. Our air force reconnoitred, shooting down six Finnish planes.” The latest Moscow communique issued to-day, however, does not claim any advance, but reports local skirmishes. The Wiipuri correspondent of the British United Press says that Russian “Big Berthas,” 25 miles distant, bombarded Wiipuri all night, excavating craters 12ft. across and 6ft. deep. A pall of smoke from the burning buildings envelopes the town, which is in a constant state of air-raid alarm.
