RANDWICK RACES
DARK ELEGANCE AGAIN FIFTH IN SUCCESSION (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Dec. 27, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 26. The results of the Randwick races to-day were as follows: — Summer Cup.—Bringa, 6.10 (Thompson), 1; Santa, 7.4 (Knox), 2; Own Folk, 8.0 (W. Cook), 3. Eleven started, including Malagigi, who was fourth. Bringa hung on well when he was challenged in the straight by his stablemate, Santa, whom he defeated by a neck, with Own Folk a head away third. Time, 2.46 i Malagigi was interfered with and did well to finish fourth.
A.J.C. Handicap.—Rival Hit, 8.9 (Coutts), 1; Breeze, 8.2 (Hickey), 2; Bel Oiseau, 8.4 (Hughes), 3. Fourteen started, including Linklet. Two lengths; half a head. Time, 1.52 J.
December Stakes, for two-year-olds. —Dark Elegance, 8.5 (McMenamin), 1; Rylstonc, 8.6 (Munro), 2- Fearless Fox, 8.5 (Bartle), 3. Six started. Five lengths; threequarters of a length. Time, I.os. Dark Elegance is regarded as one of the best fillies in recent years. She has now won five races in succession.
