TAURANGA CONVENT

SISTER OF ST. JOSEPH A preliminary visit to New Zealand in connection with the foundation of a convent and school in Tauranga *fey the Order of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny is being made by the Rev. Mother Ursula and Sister Rita, two members of the order, who arrived at Auckland from Suva last week. On arrival they were met by the Rev. Dr. Liston, Bishop of Auckland.

The foundation of a convent at Tauranga will be the lirst work done by the order in New Zealand. An old French order, with headquarters in Paris, it is engaged chiefly in hospital work, care of the poor and education. It has extensive branches in the Pacific Islands, Mother Ursula and Sister Rita being attached to the stall' of the Cathedral High School at .Suva.
