BALLAD WINS HURDLES NOVICE TO RACEWELL (Pur Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. The weather was fine but overcast for the second day of the Dunedin Jockey Club’s races. The .attendance was good. The track was slightly dead after rain. Results: Taicri .Hurdles, of £150; 11 miles.— 3-3 Ballad, 9.0 (Shand), 1; 1-2 Jewish Lad, 10.8 (Hibberd), 2; 2-2 The Sandwichman, .10.6 (Register), 3. All started. Twelve lengths; a length and a half. Time, 2,47. ** Novice Handicap, of £120; 6 fur-longs.—4-4 Racewell, 8.1 (Caddv), 1; 1-1 Southern Sail, 8.4 (W. F. Ellis), 2; 5-5 Craiglea, 8.4 (Hare), 3. All started. A head each way. Time, 1.17 2-5.
