Davies, Tauranga, and his three passengers were fortunate to escape injury at. 3 p.m. on Saturday when the vehicle overturned at a corner three and a-half miles on the Gisborne side of Matawai. There was some loose shingle on the bend and Mr. Davies was unable to regain control after the car started to skid. He and the other occupants were shaken, but it was soon found that all had escaped with a few minor abrasions and bruises. The car was badly damaged on one side.
