Joseph Annesley Shekleton, aged 35, a married man with one child, who is well known in Pahiatua, was drowned on Waitarere Bcacli on Sunday afternoon while bathing. It was dead low water at the time, but a heavy sea was running, with a strong undertow. The body has not been recovered, despite two attempts with a lifeline.
