Christmas Wedding

Creig'hton—Williams Quiet Ceremony Holy Trinity Church, Derby street, was the scene of a quiet wedding on Saturday morning, when Margaret elder daughter of the late Mr. J. W. Williams and Mrs. Philipson, Lancashire, England, was married to Terence, eldest son of Mr. Creighton and the late Mrs. Creighton, Queenstown, Central Otago. The ceremony was performed by Canon A. F. Hall.

The bride, who was given away by Mr. Cyril Rigby, looked smart in a mode L-frock of navy blue georgette, accented with a white lace collar and matching cuffs, and a white hat. A lovely sheaf of pink carnations, the gift of Mrs. Tiffen, completed the ensemble.

Mrs. Roy .Shilling attended the bride as matron of honour, wearing a graceful frock of multi-coloured Liberty silk and a sere brown hat wreathed with lavender flowers. Her bouquet was composed of roses and sweet peas in delicate tonings.

Mr. Roy Shilling carried out the duties of best man.

After the ceremony a small, charm-ingly-arranged reception, followed by a luncheon, was given by Mrs. T. Y. Cuthbert at her flat in Townley’s Building. The drawing-room was embowered in a wealth of hydrangeas, pastel-tinted sweet peas and Canterbury bells, and beautiful carnations shed their fragrance upon • the luncheon table.

The customary toasts were honoured and the handsome ivory wedding cake, surmounted with a crystal vase of real orange blossom, was cut by the bride. The bride and bridegroom left later by car for Wellington, the bride travelling in a navy blue and cherry frock and a matching coat and hat. Mr. and Mrs. Creighton’s future home will be at Tikiwhata.
