In the Sheffield Shield Cricket match in Adelaide, South Australia, in their first innings against Queensland, declared at seven wickets down for 821, which is a record score for the Adelaide Oval in shield games. Waitp scored 137, Badcock 236, Whitington 67, and P. Ridings 44 not out. Cook took two wickets for 129 and Dixon two for 142. Queensland, in their first innings made 222 (Rogers 49, D. Tallon 79). Grimmett took four wickets for 71. and Ward five for 62. Queensland followed on, and in the second innings lost six wickets for 346 (Brown 156, Rogers 50, Baker 52). In the Sheffield Shield match against Victoria, at Melbourne, New South Wales in their first innings made 321 runs (McCabe 52, Solomon 52, Barnes 98, Chipperfield 40). Ring took four wickets for 85. Victoria, who made 380 in the first innings, had three wickets down for 99 in the second (Hassett 35 not out).
