GAME IN WELLINGTON AUCKLAND’S BAD START EIGHT DOWN FOR 12 1 WALLACE’S BRIGHT KNOCK (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Auckland opened badly against Wellington in the Plunket Shield match on the Basin Reserve to-day, the first two wickets, Whitelaw and Pearson, falling for 12 runs. Bright batting by Wallace, who reached 40 in quick time, improved matters somewhat, but four wickets fell for 76. The weather was windy and overcast.
