BREACHES ALLEGED

TREATY OF WAITANGI PETITION BY MAORIS (Por Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A oetition to the Privy Council of England from the Maoris of New Zealand ipraying for consideration of alleged breaches of the Treaty of Waitangi has been prepared and signed by eighty tribal representatives. The prayer of the petitioners is Hint a British law lord should he appointed to preside over a Royal Commission consisting of himself, a judge of the New Zealand Supreme Court, and a member of the Maori race to consider the matters set out in the memorial presented by Maori people.

In the memorial the petitioners set out seven occasions on which they allege there have been grave breaches of the treaty and injustice to a minority race in the community.
