Road to Far North
Regarded by many travellers as the most isolated part of New Zealand, Spirits Bay, at the extreme north of the Dominion, is expected to attract a number of motor tourists during the holiday season. The majority of motorists make use of the Ninety-Mile Beach as a route to the Far North, but improvements to the inland road have brought it into fair order when compared with its former notorious condition. However, north of the Parenga road it is very rough, and the trip is recommended for only the more skilful and enterprising drivers.
