DAINTY SHOE—SILK HOSE ENGLISH AVIATRIX FIRST ON WEST FRONT (Reed. Dec. 23, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 21. On the West Front hardboiled members of the air force were dumbfounded when they pulled up a plane and saw a dainty shoe and silk stocking thrust over from the cockpit. The owner followed, tucking a curl in her forage cap and smoothing a goldbanded uniform. It was an Englishwoman who left her son aged 10 years and jbined up with the blood-transfusion transport service. She was the first airwoman to fly over the West Front and carrued a consignment of blood.
