PROTEST REJECTED
ANSWER TO NAZIS URUGUAY EMPHATIC (Reed. Dec. 23, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 22. The Montevideo correspondent ot the New York Times reports that Uruguay lias energetically rejected Germany's protest against the action of the Uruguayan authorities in ordering the Graf von Spee to leave Montevideo harbour or be interned. The text of the note is not published, but it is stated to be couched in the same tone as the German protest, which was unusually harsh and in anything but diplomatic language.
