PERSONAL ITEMS '.(Herald Correspondent.) Mr. and Mrs. W. Hibberd. left on Friday for Wellington, where they intend spending part of their holiday, afterwards going on to Christchurch. On their return journey to Bartletts they expect to motor through the Wairarapa. Mr. and Mrs. F. Bennett are spending a few days in Wellington.—Mr. and Mrs. F. Milroy and family left op Friday to spend the holidays at Taneatua. A member of the First Echelon, Private F. Lahood, who is attached to the N.Z. Rifle Battalion, has returned from Trentham Camp to his home in Bartletts, where he is spending his final leave with his parents. He will rejoin his unit towards the end of the month.

Mr. Max Hopkinson left on Friday for New Plymouth, where his marriage takes place nearly next week. — Mr. and Mrs. R. Carsv/ell are spending a few days in Gisborne.—Mr. A. F. Grieve has left for Palmerston North, where he will rejoin his family for the holidays.—Mr, C. Watt is visiting Rotorua for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. F. Mulligan are spending a camping holiday at the Waikanae Beach.—Constable A. Andrew, who is taking his annual leave, intends visiting Auckland. —Mr. and Mrs. C. Mori and Don ,are visiting friends in Wairoa for Christmas and New Year.

Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Briffault and family are in Gisborne for two or three weeks. —Mr. and Mrs. G. W.

King and family are motoring through to Coromandel on a caravan tour. Lance Corporal W. Hayden, of the N.Z. Rifle Battalion, who has been in camp at Trentham, recently spent a few days’ leave in Bartletts, where he formerly was on the staff of the Public Works 1 Department. He has left now for his home in Rotorua and on completion of his final leave towards the end of the month will return to Trentham. Mr. and Mrs. C. O’Brien motored to Wellington with Mr. and Mrs. Hibberd. They will spend the holidays there.— Mr. and Mrs. W. Phipps have left to spend Christmas and New Year Holidays in Hawke’s Bay.—Sister Bourke and Miss Audrey Walters are motoring to Wellington, where they will visit the Centennial Exhibition. Mr. and Mrs. F. S’. Wellfare and family intend visiting the Centennial Exhibition during the holidays.—Mr. and Mrs. E. Borst and family are motoring on the East Coast.—Mr. and Mrs. R. Hoidsworth intend to visit Rotorua and Tauranga for two or three weeks.
