Fire Brigade Call

The Gisborne Fire Brigade was called out at 2.40 p.m. to-day to extinguish a grass fire which had broken out on a vacant section alongside the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Frozen Meat and Mercantile Company’s wool store in Nesbitt road. The fire started near the railway lines and there was a danger of the flames spreading to the wooden sliding doors in the wool store. However, the brigade ran out a lead of hose and quickly subdued the blaze.
