To-day's maximum shade temperature at the Waikanae Beach was 8* degrees, two degrees lower than yesterday’s maximum. The highest reading of the day was at 11 a.m., a light easterly breeze setting in later. In many business premises and factories, the readings during the afternoon ranged to 90 degrees and over.
