SPIRIT OF EMPIRE
ASSEMBLY OF FORCES AIR DEFENCE STRENGTH DAILY DEVELOPMENT (El«e. Tel. Copyright —United Press Assn.) (Reed. Dec. 22, 9 a.m.') LONDON. Dec. 20. The Lurd Privy Seal, Sir Samuel l-loarc, in an Empire broadcast, referring to the glorious memories awakened by the arrival of the Canadian troops, said: “‘The Canadians sail east. The New Zealanders sail west. The Canadians come to,battle. The New Zealanders have been through a battle. “Britain wants peace, but not a peace which means progressive enslavement. “It is queer that the expected anat'tacks have not come, but that has suited us very well. Every day the air attack is postponed we are better able to meet and beat it.’’
