XMAS TREE PARTY INSTITUTE FUNCTIONS (Hi* rail CoiTPspomVnt.) The hall in Tikiwhata was the scene of jollification last Saturday afternoon, when Father Christmas made his annual appearance. The Christmas tree, laden with Rifts, looked most attractive, and 90 children received their presents from Father Christmas. The arrangements this year were under the auspices of the Women's Institute, assisted by generous donations from the men of the camp. Ice creams and sweets were served to the children, and afternoon tea to the adults. Christmas Dance A dance was held in the evening to wind up the day, this also being airanged by the Women’s Institute, and proved an outstanding success, visitors being present from Gisborne, Waikoura, Wharerata and Kopuawhai a. The hall looked very festive. Mr. A. Suiter acted as M.C.. and Mr. JOtene's orchestra supplied the music. Mr. E Smith thanked the Women’s Institute for its efforts, and also the men for subscribing so generously to the Christmas tree fund.
A competition was won by Mrs. J. Nicholson, and a Monte Carlo waltz by Mr. and Mrs. J. Moodv.

Smith, petunia lace; Mrs. Clark, green satin beaute; Mrs. W Osborne, blue crepe-de-chine; Mrs. Lloyd, black silk; Mrs. Wildermott, black satin and lace; Mrs. C. Wellington, cerise creoe; Mrs. R. Hinds, pale pink taffeta. Mrs J. L. Smith chose a chevron striped frock; Mrs. W. Johnson, peach sand crepe; Mrs. W. Brosnahan, silver lace; Mrs. Hansen, black net: Mrs. A. Tregoweth, floral crepe-de-chine; Mrs. Swannell, black lace; Mrs. ITCrack, green georgette; Mrs. L. Craig, floral crepede; Mrs. .T. Callaghan, green organdie; Mrs. J. Moody, gold satin; Mrs. H. Fuller, tartan satin; Mrs. B. O'Brien, green taffeta; -Mrs. E Deverv. black satin; Mrs. A. Devcry. black' velvet; Mrs. Amor, rust lame; Mrs. Barclay, white satin; Mrs Walters, blue self-patterned taffeta; Airs. Arthur, brown lace. Miss A. Kerr wore a floral satin frock; Aliss Dearness, white satin; Miss L. Williams, floral muslin; Miss V. Williams, striped silk; Miss F. Warner. lemon crinkle crepe; Miss D. Deverv. green satin: Aliss M. White, black georgette and lace; Aliss A. West, floral georgette.
Mrs. Swannell, Airs. Lloyd and Mr. Swannell. jun., Kopuawhara, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. Wildemott for the week-end festivities.—Miss Dearness, Gisborne, was the week-end guest of Airs. J. Amor—Airs. Hansen, Gisborne, stayed with Mrs. J. L. Smith last week-end—Air. and Airs. A. Tregowith, Waikoura, were recent visitors to Tikiwhata.
