MORERE SCHOOL

ANNUAL PRIZE-GIVING BREAK-UP FUNCTiON (Herald Correspondent.) A bright gathering took place in the Morere Public School at the annual break-up function and prize giving. Despite the adverse weather, there was a pleasing attendance of parents and friends, who showd their appreciation of the items given by the pupils, and evinced keen interest in the samples of work on display. The children gave an excellent performance which included songs, recitations, action poems and two sketches. Much praise is due to the children for the manner in which they presented the various items, and to the teacher .Miss H. M. Wright, for the excellent way they had been trained. Mr. L. South, chairman of the school committee, presented the prizes. Alec Binnie was presented with « primary school certificate. Each child was the recipient of a prize on behali of the school committee. At the conclusion ol' the prize-giving two tiny tots. Noeline South, and Gus Lindstrom. presented their teacher with a beautiful bouquet on behalf of the children, wishing her a merry Christmas. Miss Wright suitably responded, and thanked the parents for their co-operation in making the evening such a success. A daintv surroer was partaken by all.
