FLORAL SETTING (Hiu-iUd Corrospomli'nt.) Hydra igeas decorated the Anglican Church, Telega Bay, when Mavis j Johephin?, only daughter of Mr. and; Mrs. J. Lockwood, was married to \ Brian Ashford, only son of Mr. J. W. Ellis and the late Mrs. Ellis, Henderson.
The ceremony was performed, by the Re.’. N. F. Bonham, and Miss Yv. Moore piesided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming deemed it: embossed magnolia satin made on lcr.g. classical lines with sweeping circular train, a cowl neckline and long, tight-fitting sleeves pointed over the hands. An embroidered . tulle veil, with a coronet of orange | blossoms, white satin shoes and hose j to match completed her toilette. A Oieath of St. .lobeph lilies and gyphsophils was carried. The bride also wore a string of pearls, the gift re the bridegroom.
The bnue was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Olive Lincoln, cousin of the bride, and Miss Barbara Eli is. the bridegroom's sister Both wei e dressed alike in dainty shirred shell pink georgette silver shoes, and head-dresses of pink organdie roses. They carried sheafs of delphiniums, larkspur, and blue cornflowers, and also wore crystal necklaces, the gifts of the bridegroom.
The little flower girl, Cushla Lincoln. cousin of the bride, looked sweet in silver spotted tulle made in Kate Greenway style. She carried a pretty posy of pink and blue cornflower and carnations, and wore a gold bracelet, the- gift of the bridegroom.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Archie Lockwood, brother of the bride as best man. and by Mr. Ted Lockwood, a cousin of the bride, as groomsman. Mr. J. Nelson was the usher.
Reception in Reynold’s Hall
A reception was held in the Reynolds Hall, where the bride’s mother received the guests wearing a navy georgette dress, with navy lace coatee, blue hat, and accessories. The carried a bouquet of pink carnations and dahlias.
The hall was tastefully decorated with •hydrangeas, sweet peas and cornflowers. Toasts were proposed by the Rev. N. F. Bonham and Mrs. W H. Bradley, while Mrs. B. Lincoln entertained the giants with music and Mr, lEllis, sen., and Mr. T. iLockwood sang The bride later I ravelled in a floral georgette frock, navy blue edge to edge coat, and hat and shoes to match. The honeymoon will be spent touring the North Island, after which the bridegroom sails overseas with the military force.
Mrs. Gordon Wilson, the bride’s aunt, was dressed in figure.! crepe-de-chene and a pink summer felt hat; Mrs. Bert Lincoln the bride's aunt, black and rose sheer; Mrs. McCreedy the bride's aunt, navy sheer costume and hat to match; Mrs. Mason, black crepe-de-chene and white hat.
The floral sheaths were the artistic work of Mrs. R. Craill.
