TRAGIC CRASH
FIVE LIVES LOST AUSTRALIAN PLANE AIR FORCE MACHINE MISHAP AFTER TAKE OFF CROSS COUNTRY HOP (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Dec. 19, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 18. Five men were killed instantly when an Australian Air Force Avro Anson plane crashed on the Richmond golf course to-day, two minutes after it had taken off on a cross-country flight to Point Cook, Victoria. The machine was completely wrecked. The dead are: — Flight-Lieutenant Arthur Watkins, Sydney. ’Flight-Lieutenant Hugh Horner, Sydney. Flying-Officer Henry Fitzgerald, Melbourne. Flying-Officer Malcolm Mclnnes, Melbourne. Aircraftsman Leonard King, Brisbane.
