RAILWAY OPERATION RESULT FOR 32 WEEKS A gain of £341,705 for the 32 weeks of the railway year to November 11. compared with the corresponding portion of last year is shown by the latest accounts to appear. A working profit of £249,184 compares with a net deficit of £92,521 at the equivalent date in 1938. For the four-weekly period to November 11. there was a profit of £57,245, compared with a loss of £12.152 for the corresponding period last year The railway working account for the four weeks, shows the gross receipts to have been £735,028. an increase of £87.446 on the figure last year. Expenses at £677,783 were £lB.049 higher.
