Use of the Radio

Sir, —In his first letter “Radio” gave the greatest prominence to his distortion of the so-called radio debate between Mr. Furness and Mr. Nash. This he calls my re'd-herring. I objected to his obvious distortion of facts and he calmly stated “this does not really matter.” Now, realising that he did not have a leg to stand on and that he cannot pursue that subject any more, he accepts (he facts' and endeavours to lead me into another line of argument, but as I was inspired by no motive other than to correct his unjust assertion and did not comment on the balance of his letter, 1 fail to see why I should follow his red-herring and oblige him now, whatever my views on the subject may be. He states that when one Opposition speaker after another was refused a hearing I had no complaint to make. It is news to me, and I think would be to anyone else, that such was the case. Certainly Mr. Nash was virtually refused a hearing, and most of his remarks were hardly audible to anyone except those to whom he spoke ovei the air. This was obvious to those who listened-in. and it was also told me by one who was present. Regarding the fact that I did not see “Fair Play’s” letter, “Radio” can suspect what he likes, bid it does not alter the fact that for a short period I missed every issue. LABOUR.
