SERIES OF DELAYS

SHEARING AND HARVEST WEATHER ON COAST WEEK-END DOWNPOUR (Herald Correspondent.) A further heavy downfall of rain in the northern part of the Coast on Saturday, when 1.90 in. of rain fell at Tikitiki in six hours, gave another interruption to shearing and harvesting operations. Shearing has been hampered continuously by wet weather this season, and in some parts of the district it seems inevitable that the operations will entend well into January. Many gangs are working behind schedule, and on some stations where the sheds are usually cut out by Christmas a start has been impossible yet. The clips are reported to be in really good order.

Haymaking also is backward, and some crops have been lying out in the weather for a fortnight.
