SPRINT RACES

POVERTY BAY CLUB ROWING COMPETITION A series of short sprint races was conducted on Saturday afternoon by the members of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club, the final being woq by T. Stevens, str., 3. Knebei. K. Swain, and M. Doyle. Scratch crews were drawn and the course was over half a mile. Results were as follows: — T. Stevens beat A. Gardner, str., G. Ryan, D. Third and G. Owen by three lengths. F. Gardner, str., H. Duckworth, W. Townson and D. McLeod defeated G. R'. Ardern, str., A. Kearns, M. Varley and F. Green by half a length. In the final Stevens stroked his crew to a win against F. Gardner.
