j SCHOOL PRIZE-GIVING
MANY PARENTS PRESENT

At tiie prize-giving ceremony which took place at the Patutahi School at fl.e end of last week, tiie headmaster, ,Mr .D. S. McNaughton, congratulated Aii. R. .Vilhams on his forthcoming marriage and in a happy speech n ade a presentation from the staff ar.d pupils of Ihe school. Mr. Williams suitably replied.
There was a large gathering of parents present. Mr. T. W. Sewell, chairman ol the school committee before presenting the prizes, congratulated the staff on the successful year's work.

Mrs. Crookes, who lias been ' isiting her daughter, Mrs. J. H. Montoilh, has returned to Waipukurau.— Miss Jean Monleith has left for Hawke's Bay to spend the school vacation. The Misses P. and A. Atkins and Master T. Atkins, who attend college in Auckland, have arrived home for the school holidays.
