i Last Night’s Forecast General situation.—The recent disturbance over the Auckland peninsula has moved away to the east and pressure is relatively high and fairly uniform over the whole country. 'Forecast. • Winds south-westerly prevailing over the Auckland province, elsewhere rather variable but witn northerly directions predominating, light to moderate generally but later freshening in the south. Seas in New Zealand waters slight or moderate. In the eastern Tasman Sen variable winds and slight seas in the northern portion, and fresh north-westerly winds and moderate seas in the southern portion. ■Weather.fair to fine and warm generally, but with scattered rains developing in the far south and west. To-day’s North Island Report The barometric pressure along the east coast at 9 a.m. to-day was moderately high, the level of the barometer having shown a marked rise in northern districts over the week-end. Blue skies were reported at most points, but at Wellington overcast conditions prevailed. Light winds were general, southerlies prevailing from Gisborne northwards and north-west-erlies in the south.
