AID OF CONVOYS
OFFER BY ALLIES NEUTRAL SHIPPING REDUCTION OF LOSSES CHURCHILL’S OPINION (Blue. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (British Official Wireless.) (Reed. 2.15 p.m. RUGBY, Dec. 14. The First Lord of the Admiralty, Mr. Winston Churchill, in a written reply, to a question put in the House of Commons, said that the protection of the Allied convoy system was available under certain conditions to neutrals. “1 believe that their losses would be reduced if they accepted protection more often,” he added. The Admiralty had taken and would continue to take all possible steps to encourage neutral shipping engaged in trade with or for the Allies to participate in the British convoys.
