DAMAGE ADMITTED

GERMAN CRUISER UNDERWATER EXPLOSION (Reed. Dec. 16, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 14. A German communique issued in Berlin states: “Our naval forces operated in the northern part of the North Sea in the last few days. On the return trip, an underwater explosion slightly damaged a light cruiser but she was able to reach port.” This recalls the statement of the Admiralty referring to the British submarine, which sighted the German liner Bremen, and which was reported to have torpedoed a German cruiser.
