PORT OF GISBORNE TO-DAY’S ARRIVALS Kopara, m.v., 8.50 a.m., G 79 tons, F. S. Bates, from Napier. VESSELS DUE AT GISBORNE Kapuni, Auckland. December 18. Pakura, Lyttelton and Wellington, December 19 Pukeko, Auckland. December 20. Margaret W., Auckland, December 21. COASTAL TRADE The Kopara arrived at Gisborne this morning to discharge cement from Portland and general cargo from Auckland. The ship departs this afternoon for Auckland in order to load on Monday and Tuesday for Coast bays, Gisborne and Napier, returning here next Thursday. The Pukeko finishes her Auckland loading to-day and on Monday takes in cement at Portland for Gisborne and Napier. The ship is expected to work this port on Wednesday. The Pakura clears Wellington today for Napier and Gisborne. The ship arrives here on Tuesday to discharge Lyttelton and Wellington cargo. ! ’ The Margaret W., which was due at Auckland this morning from Gisborne, loads on Monday and Tuesday for Tokomaru Bay, Tolaga Bay and Gisborne. The vessel is due here next Thursday. The Totara’s discharging operations at Tokomaru Bay were suspended today owing to a heavy sea developing overnight. The vessel put to sea"last evening and it is hoped that she will be able to berth again on Monday morning to continue discharge and complete later in the day. when she will sail for Wellington. “ The Poolta is to'load coal at Greymouth on Monday, completing at Westport, for Napier and Gisborne. The Kapuni is expected to arrive at Gisborne during the week-end from Auckland and on Monday will discharge general cargo. HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS All coastal vessels trading to Gisborne will be out of service during the Christmas—New Year holiday period. . In the Auckland trade both Hie Kopara and Margaret W. are due at Gisborne on December 21 and they return to Auckland to tie up until early in January. The boats are to load at Auckland on January 2 and 3 for the usual ports. The Wainui will resume in the South Island-Well ington-Napies-Gis-borne service early in January, but the date has not been announced so far. The Pakura, which arrives at Gisborne on Tuesday from the south, proceeds on to Auckland to tie up in the meantime. Her place in the southern trade will be taken by the Pukeko, which arrives at Gisborne next Wednesday from Auckland and later proceeds to Lyttelton. The 1 Pukeko will load at Lyttelton on | January 4 and complete at Wellington for Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne and the Coast.
