AUSTRALIAN SHEEP
REDUCTION IN FLOCKS
Droughts in Australia have resulted in a reduction in the number of sheep in the country, said Mr. C. H. Brookes, managing-director of a firm of sheep-shearer manufacturers, who passed through Auckland on the Monterey on a visit to the United States and Britain. It was likely, however, that this year as much wool as ever would.be obtained. The season had been good, and better pastures would mean longer and heavier wool.
