Must Not Slap Children
Slapping of children or boxing thenears is forbidden in the State schools of New South Wales, the Education Department stated recently. Corporal punishment in Victoria may be administered only to boys; strapping the pupil on the palm of the hand is the only method permitted, and no pupil may be ' detained .after school hours for more than 30 minutes.
