Auckland, December 13.—Arrived. —Kapuni, 2.40 p.m., for Gisborne. “Never Been Considered” “I have no knowledge of any such move, and I must say that I think it very unlikely,” commented the Hon. W. E. Barnard, iM/P. for Napier, when suggestions that the Government had a conscription scheme prepared to come into force early next year were referred to him. Mr. Barnard is a member of the New Zealand Defence Council. -He said that such a scheme had never been -considered -by the Government’s Parliamentary caufcus, and he was satisfied that no such step would .be taken without it -being discussed there first.
