BRITISH BUYING OFFER SURPLUS WHEAT CROP (Reed. Dec. 13, 2.40 p.m.) OTTAWA, Dec. 12. Canada has decided to let Britain buy wheat in the open market instead of selling her export surplus in bulk as Britain desired. Britain bought bacon and some minerals in bulk at fixed prices. Earlier it was DroDosed that Canada should sell 100,000,000 bushels to the United Kingdom below 80 cents, but the growers declined the last British offer which was reported to be 95 cents until the end of 1941.
