CHRISTMAS CHEER

HOSPITAL CONCERT LARGE ATTENDANCE A successful concert was held in the men’s surgical ward at the Cook Hospital last evening in aid of the funds to provide Christmas cheer for patients during the holiday period. There was a large attendance and a most enovable programme was presented by the concert party. Items were given by the following: Piano trio, Masters F. Wise, D. Robertson and N. Dow; vocal quartet, Messrs. W. Kohn, V. S. Caulton, R. and A. Allan; songs, Mrs. A. C. Coleman, Misses Coleman (2), F. McKenzie Smart, and V. McCarthy, Master L. Neill, Messrs. O. Pritchard and C. Carter; violin solos, Mr. T. W. Lighton; dancing items, Miss Isobel Sharpies' pupils. The accompaniments were played by Misses M. Smith and J. Sealey and Mr. W. Kohn. At the end of the concert the medical superintendent, Dr. R. J. B. Hall, thanked the performers for the excellent programme and expressed appreciation of the public support accorded to the function. Dr. Hall also made a special appeal to residents for donations of flowers to brighten the hospital wards.
