MILKING SHORTHORNS
ASSOCIATION MEETING HIGH QUALITY STOCK (Per Presn Association.) INVERCARGILL, this day. • The half-yearly meeting of the New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association was attended by North Island breeders as well as a good representation of South Island members. The president, Mr. Allan, Hawke’s Bay, congratulated exhibitors on the splendid animals at the Royal Show and said the exhibition was a credit to the breed. The judge of the breed, Mr. W. J. Slack, Bunnythcrpe, gave a general review of the stock, which had come before him at the show, and said he did not expect to see such high quality stock in Southland. A remit from the Canterbury branch recommending the council to adopt the principle of quarterly meetings of the executive committee to control the affairs of the association, was adopted. The committee will consist of the president for the year and four delegates, three' from ’ the North Island and one from the South Island.
At the close of the meeting the local branch entertained visiting r. embers at a social evening.
