RUSSIAN PRESSURE FUTURE OF CHINA (Reed. Dec. 13, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 12. The Shanghai correspondent of the New York Times, in connection with China’s reluctance to offend the Soviet with an adverse vote at Geneva, reported yesterday that Power politics in the Far East were assuming a new phase. Chungking sources reported that Moscow was coupling dilatory tactics in the parleys with Tokio with intimations that the time had arrived for China formally to recognise the independence of the Outer Mongolian Soviet Republic and formally to relinquish the Chinese claims to sovereignty, hinting that if China did not. the Soviet supplies of arms and aircraft would diminish.
