FALL OF 130 FT.

CAR LEAVES ROAD ACCIDENT AT MORERE ONE MAN IN HOSPITAL (Special to the Herald.) NUHAKA, this day. A motor car driven by Mr. H. Warren went over a bank rear Morere at about 1.30 a.m. on Monday and landed in the Tininui Stream 130 ft below the roadway. Mr. Warren was accompanied by Messrs. J. O’Brian and W. Gibson, and the party was proceeding from Gisborne to Tuai. The car failed to negotiate a bend of the road almost opposite Mr. W. Tait’s homestead. Constable Houston, Nuhaka, assisted the occupants to th; Morere Hotel, where Mrs. E. B. Shortt rendered first aid to Mr. Gibson, who was injured internally. The other occupants were badly bruised and shaken. Mr. Gibson was conveyed to the Wairoa Hospital for medical attention.

In ds fall the car turned over a number of times and the last 15ft was a sheer drop on to the rocks in the riverbed. The occupants were covered with water and mud. The car was extensively damaged.
