TREES ON PARK

USE BY COUNCIL A proposal that the Gisborne Borough Council should use trees to be removed from the Park Domain for its own purposes, instead of selling them to tenderers, was made at a meeting of the council, when sitting as the Makaraka Domain Board, last night. Cr. H. H. De Costa, who put the suggestion forward, maintained that the council should be able to save much by having the timber dressed as against purchasing other supplies.

The matter was referred to the borough engineer, Mr. E. R. Thomas, for a report.
