WOMAN CENTENARIAN

MRS. HANNAH RETTER 54 YEARS IN LEVIN (Per Press Association.) LEVIN, this day. Mrs. Hannah Retter, the only daughter of the late Captain Stickle, who was born in Sydney in 1839, celebrated her 100th. birthday to-day. She came to New Zealand when a lew weeks old and spent her girlhood in Wellington, afterwards residing at Napier, Porirua. and Rangitikei. In 1885 the family came to Levin and has resided there ever since. Being a nurse, her presence was welcome in many homes in the early days when there was no resident doctor.

She was the recipient to-day of many congratulatory messages.
