RED CROSS EFFORT FIFTY AMBULANCES (Reed. Dec. 8, 9 a.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 6. A Washington message states that President Roosevelt conferred wUh the Federal loan administrator, Mr. Jesse Jones and the Red Cross chairman, Mr. Norman Davis, on aiding Finland by credits for surplus crops and other forms of relief. It was noi suggested that the funds should be utilised to provide armaments. Mr. Davis announced that the Red Cross Society was complying with the Finnish request to send 50 ambulances. Senator Mead is introducing a bill immediately Congress reconvenes authorising the Treasury to give the Red Cross Society permission to use for the relief of Finnish distress Finland’s war debt instalment of December 15.
