(Herald Correspondent.) Miss Jean French has received notification that rhe was successful at the recent examinations in passing her senior shorthand and typist's examination. Mr. M. Breingan, who has been relieving at the Gisborne office of the Public Works Department for the past month, has returned to Bartletts. Before resuming his duties he paid a short business trip to Wellington. Corporal John R. v M. Hector, engineer’s assistant at Bartletts, left yesterday for the Narrow Neck camp, where he is to attend the non-com-missioned officers’ course, New Zealand Engineers.
