GISBORNE CHILDREN SCHOOL PARTY OF 70 SUBURBAN AND COUNTRY FEBRUARY ARRANGEMENT Arrangements have been, completed for a visit to the Centennial Exhibition in Wellihgton by a party of 70 children from five schools in Gisborne and the district, while it is understood that proposals are being considered to organise a trip by a party from at least one of the other large schools. Those concerned in 'the arrangements already made are the Kaiti, Mangapapa, Awapuni, Muriwai and Ormond schools, and the party of 70 will be under the control of seven teachers. The trip will be made in February. The children will leave Gisborne at 3 a.m. on the day of departure, which has not been fixed yet, and will travel by service car to Wairoa, where they will board a special railcar to Napier, connecting with the express for Wellington.

On the journey down they will travel via Manawatu, and on the . return trip they will take the Wairarapa route, so that they will see as much of the country as possible. While in Wellington, the children will be billeted at schools.

While no arrangements have been made for the Gisborne Central School, it is understood that a proposal is to be placed before the next meeting of the committee in regard to an effort in that direction.
