The tide of indignation at Russia’s invasion of Finland has reached full flood throughout Scandinavia. Extreme uneasiness has been caused in Sweden toy violent attacks appearing in German newspapers against the Swedish Minister, M. Sandler, who is blamed with Britain for causing the situation leading to the Russian action. It i,s alleged that M. The feelings of the people are rising hourly. Aibout 10,000 demonstrated outside the Royal .palace at Stockholm calling King Gustav to the balcony with cries of “Long live Sweden!” The demonstrators sang the Swedish and Finnish national anthems and cheered wildly when King Gustav appeared and sa*uted solemnly. The crowd then demonstrated outside the Russian Legation. Major Winge, who led a brigade of Swedish volunteers in the Finnish war of Independence in 1018, is organising a new brigade for which recruits are being accepted from all Scandinavian countries. Over GOO youths enlisted for the Finnish Army at a special office in Stockholm. Hundreds are enrolling in other cities. Norway’s apprehension is growing daily.
