No time is being lost by the New Zealand Petroleum Company, Limited, in its preparations for transferring the drilling rig and camp accommodation from Totangi to Morere. The new road to the site chosen at Morere is well advanced, and needs only metalling, a requirement which should not interfere with the interim transport of materials and machinery, since the prospect of settled weather is excellent. At the old site at Totangi, buildings and machinery are being dismantled in preparation for the transfer of operations, and all reserves of drilling pipe and other material on the location are being retutrned to the depot. It is expected that the re-erection of the rig on the Morere site will be undertaken immediately after the Christmas and New Year holidays.
