TRAMS HELD UP
POWER INTERRUPTIONS RUSH HOURS IN CITY (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Twice to-day and each time a>t a rush hour electrical defects caused interruption to the Wellington tramway system. At 8 a.m. a defect, small in itself, in a fuse box near the railway station resulted in the holding up of long lines of cars. The trouble was put right and a secondary trouble developed in the L'amlbton quay circuit. In all I's minutes of delay occurred before the service moved off normally. Shortly before 5 p.m. trams and lifts in the city were halted by a power failure which lasted for 16 minutes. The failure was caused by trouble at a sub-station at Dannevirke resulting in a break in the circuit between Waikaremoana and Mangahao.
