Social Security Rules
Sir, —A man who is in a position oJ having to obtain employment on No. 11 scheme is dismissed if it is found that during the week-end or before ot after work he gives a little help to a wife who, to try and make ends meet, has gone to work herself. Can you tell me why the same rule does not apply to well-paid members of the staff of the Social Security Department itself? Some of their wives arc in regular employment, taking two salaries into the home, while genuinely-unemployed men are refused even sustenance if they refuse to leave their wives and families and go out into the country.
