MANCHESTER UNITY
GISBORNE LODGE OFFICERS INSTALLED There was a satisfactory attendance at a meeting of the Manchester Unity Loyal Gisborne Lodge, 6087, last night, when the half-yearly installation of officers took place. The group officer, Brother F. T. Robinson, P.G., conducted the installation ceremony, during which the following were presented with the collars of their office: —Sister G. E. Wallen, 1.P.N.G.; Sister O. Bannister, N.G; Brother O. Grant, V.G; Sister J. Elliott, E.S.; Sister E. Butterworth, warden. At the close of the ceremony the newly-installed officers were congratulated by the group officer and also by the secretary, Brother C. H. Ambridge, P.D.G.M., and the lecture master, Brother li. T. Sinden, P.G. Brother W. M. Michic, P.G., reported having attended a meeting of representatives of other friendly societies concerned in the chemist’s agreement, regarding which it was decided to communicate with the chemist.
Brother Michie also reported on the prospect of a joint purchase of a set of indoor bowls, and the lodge approved a proposal submitted by him.
Brother P. O. Niven, president of the Past Grands’ Lodge, reported on arrangements made for a meeting of the P.G. Lodge to confer past officers’ degrees. The sick visitors’ report was shorter than for some time, but a number of members were still on the sick list. The meeting was concluded by the serving of supper.
